Our mission
ADVANCE WOMEN’S HEALTH
Our mission is to revolutionise women’s health through innovation, technology and connections.
We are building an ecosystem in which research, entrepreneurship and innovation come together to improve the wellbeing of women.
What inspires us
Our Manifesto
Our history has its roots in the data feminism and in gender medicine.
We believe strongly in
Analysing and challenging power
Medicine and research have been built on incomplete data, excluding women and their experiences for centuries. We work to expose structural inequalities and close knowledge gaps, putting women’s health at the centre. Ethics is not enough for us, we want justice. The gender gap is a political and social problem that requires concrete action.
Data for change
The data are not neutral: reflect the injustices of those who collect and interpret them. We promote the collection and ethical use of data to bridge the gap in gender in medical research, recognising that the absence of data on women is a problem of social justice.
Innovation in the service of women
We support Femtech as a tool to create digital and technological solutions that address the specific needs of women’s health, from prevention to treatment.
Fair access to health
We work to break down the economic, cultural and geographical barriers that limit access to quality healthcare, ensuring that every woman has the right to good health. We promote intersectionality, regardless of age, ethnicity, sexual orientation or socio-economic status.
Ethical use of data
Information about women’s health is invaluable, but also sensitive. We are campaigning for the ethical and transparent use of data, so that women can have full control over how it is collected, used and shared. All femtech must guarantee privacy, security and genuine informed consent.
Education and Awareness
We disseminate evidence-based information to combat misinformation and make every woman the protagonist of her own health choices.
Participation and self-determination
We believe that women must be actively involved in the design of health technologies and services so that they truly reflect their needs. We support the right of every woman to choose her own healthcare pathway in an informed manner, free from prejudice or imposition.
Networking and Collaboration
We build an ecosystem in which companies, start-ups, institutions, doctors, researchers and patients can collaborate to advance innovation in women’s health.
Visibility of women
Women’s work in research, technology and healthcare is often overlooked and undervalued. Let us recognise those who create innovative solutions for women’s health, from start-ups to campaigners, from scientists to carers, because every step forward is the result of the efforts of many people, whose contributions are often overlooked.
Towards a future of equity
We imagine and work for a future in which gender is no longer a discriminating factor in research, medicine and technology.
